TOUR DETAILS

We start our day tour heading to The Pregnant Stone located in North Bekaa. We will discover the biggest man made stone in the world that weights more than 1600 tons and we will get some souvenirs.

Then we will head to Baalbek Roman Ruins built more than 2000 years ago. It is composed of main entrance, Hexagonal court, main court, small altar, big altar and 3 magnificent temples: Venus Temple, Jupiter Temple and Bacchus Temple. You will admire the best preserved roman ruins in the world, enjoy the extravagant scale of construction and get to know in details the full story and role of Baalbek from Phoenician period passing through Roman period until the last Islamic period.

After Baalbek we will have lunch in a local restaurant in Zahle.

Before going back to Beirut, we will stop by Chateau Ksara the oldest and largest winery in the Middle East since 1857 where we will offer 45 minutes guided tour, which include a 15 minutes movie about the history and wine producing process, a wine tasting session and a visit to the cellars.

STONE OF THE PREGNANT WOMAN

Discovered in 2014 and considered as the biggest man made stone in the world, the megalithic stone is located southwestern the Roman ruins and weights more 1600 tons.

BAALBEK ROMAN RUINS

Located 85 km northeast of Beirut and known as the Heliopolis or ‘Sun City’ of the ancient world, Baalbek’s ruins comprise the most impressive ancient site in Lebanon and are arguably the best preserved Roman ruins in the world.

ZAHLE

Located 45 km east of Beirut and known as the “Bride of the Bekaa” and “the City of Wine and Poetry”, Zahlé is the capital and the largest city of Bekaa Governorate, Lebanon. It is famous throughout Lebanon and the region for its pleasant climate, numerous riverside restaurants and quality arak.

CHATEAU KSARA

A wine producer since 1857, Chateau Ksara is the oldest, largest and most commercial winery in Lebanon. Underneath the old fort (‘Ksar’ meaning fort), a two-kilometer Roman-era cave tunnel (the cellars) provides perfect storage conditions.
